Cant Believe its Counter-Strike, Time to Mann Up!

Hey Guysziziziaisi (spell check picks that as 'nonspecializing')..... its me, taking alittle break from Study, let you know of what Ive been up to recently.

Two Things: Team Fortress 2 Mann v Machine, and Counter-Strike Global Offensive

Ive been playing both recently, yes, Team Fortress 2, Ive actually gotten round to playing it this year for once. It was always the game I knew i could go back to, but with this new update, its a given, I have to now dedicate 200 more hours to this wonderful game for its amazing new co-op. It truly is. Ive been playing through it with a few friends, and its so much fun! One problem, its CHALLENGING!!! Unless you have good strategies [I always delegated myself as the engie, got a few engie buddies and used my wrangler sentry escape tactic, probably the reason we did so well ahahaha, oh stop it you] and AT LEAST 5 players (or, as cheaply as it is... all engineers..), your gonna have a hard time. Ive got heaps of strategies as ive completely all maps, and even Mann works on Advanced, so far, but Once year 12 is over, I'll go ahead and give some money to valve to play these tour of duties and make some decent videos (I believe its worth the cost, its free in the fist place, and AMAZING). Another thing to look forward to

This was when I won the Advanced map, Oh my, I was laughing like crazy, this is some hard shit (needed 3 engies)

But so far, there is one other game Ive been playing. One that I never thought I would enjoy, one that sprang out of nowhere (well, I did buy it because of the low price... and the TF2 Sniper hehehe), CS:GO! Seriously, I played the old counter-strike quite a bit (source, obviously), and i could never get into it, I know its skill level is insanly high, you need to know what the fcuk you are doing, AFTER you've been a n00b for 200 hours (at least). But CS:GO, well, its not much different, but its different enough to be much more enjoyable. I seem to love the movement, the guns, the hit boxes, and even the graphics are nice. Best part is, this is a comeptitive shooter, if I can spend years training myself on this, I can get good, and I CAN be actually very good at first person shooters. w00t! Going to LAN parties and owning would be a nice feel. But for now, i just play deathmatch when ever I get the chance (considering I dont get much free time in year 12). And the best part its, its not old, its new. Playing counters-strike was mildly difficult simply because I had missed its prime, sure its ok now, but playing an up-to-date shooter thats competitively built and amazing, its not a bad feel, not a bad feel at all. (In future generations, I can brag that I actually pre-ordered this awesome thingy....or...not..)

There was this one guy, called BOT Frank who was owning me, I made it my life goal to hunt him down, I always thought he was cheating... until this moment... if only pinkie was around to see my smile >:D

Thats it for now, these are the two games Ive been playing recently, and will probably keep playing for the next few weeks. I plan to watch Ano Hana as my term ends (I get some free time before my exam study :D ) and tell you guys about it then.  But until then, stay safe, relaxed, pill oh bill.

Miserable Defeat (LIKE I SAID, THIS IS NOT EASY)

Dont Forget: Steam Sales & Epic Madoka

The Steam Sales Have been here for only a few days, and yet I've already saved an incredible amount of money. If you have not been on steam in a while, I'll strongly urge you go on NOW and see if you can save a huge amount of money...that you can use TO BUY EVEN MORE GAMES ON THESE RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING SALES!

With just $22, I have been able to Buy Batman Arkham City,  L.A Noire, Toy Soldiers and a few extra DLC for other games, which i presume all this would have been worth around $75 normally. No Joke!, I posted last time (around December) the enormous amount I saved last time, so I wont bother this time (although you can easily work out Ive already saved $53.. lol) because if you wont possibly believe how fantastic these sales are... you probably dont deserve them... but if you think you do and as just as excited as the rest of us... GET GOING AND BUY STUFF!

On Another Note, it is Holidays, but not entirely Holidays. I have devoted most of it to catch up on my study notes and other aspects which will benefit me in the coming weeks and especially near the finals. I see this as an opportunity to do work now I would be doing later, so I can do more practice when the time requires it. Dont worry, I'll have literally ALL the time to play games, watch anime, read manga and go nuts after Year 12, After November, After those dreaded finals...

Maybe I need Keima to Tutor Me

But more so on what Ive been doing now? Well, as of since last time, I've been pouring hours into Saints Row: the Third... its just FUN! Seriously, after all the missions, story, minigames and even saints book, Im still having a blast. Im so close to 100% completion... and will probably take a break once I finally do get it.... ONLY to replay the ENTIRE game again as a different character on Hardcore difficulty later (after this year of course).

This Game proves Open-World Co-op WORKS! SO MUCH!

Other times Ive been playing Tribes Ascent... I thought that game was ok... until I started playing with my friends in serious co-op. Now its epic-awesome-enjoyable-fantastic!!! jumping into the enemies base as a Doombringer and Juggernaut, fending off enemies and backing each other up is the most fun Ive had in co-op in ages (excluding Saints Row) and its not even entirely a co-op game, We've actually playing PvP, but just sticking together! Thats the best part, what we are doing is really having a larger impact than just playing a co-op v bots game where no one remembers what we did but us, while here we're actually dominating real life people with the power of teamwork and friendship!

So lastly, I also managed to finish another anime... I cant believe my luck . First Angel Beats, then Clannad and now Puella Magi Madoka Magica... now the 3 best animes I have seen...ever...history... full stop. Thats right, Ive gotten round to watching the widly acclaimed Madoka, entering with low expectations and leaving with super high impressions. Seriously, it was one of the most epic fantasy storytelling I have seen in anime. Everything worked out; the characters, the plot, the resolution, the action and best of all, the dark themes. Damn that was dark, and I loved every bit of it. Im still trying to get my head around how things escalated extremely well and was perfectly handled ... The ending was purely satisfying, just like Clannad, and the action; oh how epic and scaled it was! I starting this knowing there was death and witches (despite many people accusing it as another generic magical girl anime... which is WRONG and STUPID), but after the first death... my Jaw Dropped... it was still shocking even though I knew in advance. The Anime also had consistency, the characters were crying episodes after a death, Rather then just as they die and acting like it barely happened at all afterwards.

I know Im being a bit vague and not really describing it as much, but this is just my opinion after watching it, rather than a detailed review, I also don't want to spoil it (as its not long, only 12 episodes ). And so this one after another, Ive been on a role watching simply amazing Anime. I'll gladly re-watch this in future, and I highly recommend you to as well.

annnnnnddddd I guess thats its for now. Enjoy your holidays, especially these epic steam sales. Have fun playing games, watching anime, reading manga, redditing or whatever you may enjoy doing. I'll try to keep up these larger irregular posts as much as I can, but (as I always say) when this year is finally done, I'll finally have some time to relax (by that I mean PLAY AS MANY GAMES, MANGA, ANIME, REDDIT, BLOG POSTS AND OTHER CRAZY CRAP THAT I WANT TO DO, MUAHAHAHAHA).

Until Then, Have a Pinkie Pie... to stare into your soul

Quackity Quack, Joyduck's Back: w/ Dota 2, Saints Row the Third and the best Anime Ive ever watched

Everyone, how have you been. As Promised Ive come back... although a little longer than a few days ... ehehe, still, better latethen never..eh...eh? (Im sorry, dont hate me ;-; )

Lets get this party started!

ANYWAY, Lets get strightinto things. First of all, This Dota 2 Game. I Love valve, I love their games, and I must say im impressed with my first MOBA called Dota 2. However, as a n00b player, i can confirm for people like me who have never touched games like this... they are HARD. In dota 2, i kept on dying, didnt know how to use any items, failed as support and ultimatly didnt have as much fun as I thought (although i had quite a bit). But I loved the co-op mode, pretty much you a friends v bots. its amazing, just like any other co-op game. However, this is all i played and 'luckly' didnt go online as the community is rumoured to be hating people like me D:. So I'll just stick to bots and friends for now. Ok, I'll admit I raged every now and then, but I blame myself for going into this full on genre unprepared. When i pick it up in future, i'll be sure to study it like my economics and get good so i can fully appreciated it :D

Honesty is a Virtue

So overall, I found it hard... but fun. Valve have done another master work (that appeals to others rather than myself) so when this releases as a free title (THATS RIGHt, FREE, THIS IS AMAZING), be sure to check it out!

Also recently, I must say, I have  a new favourite game (not of all time, but close) is Saints Row: The Third. Everything about it is simply outstanding. The Combat is smooth, the driving is smoother, the customization is INSANE, the story is entertaining (makes you feel like a BOSS) and best of all, THE ENTIRE GAME IS CO-OP COMPATIBLE. THAT IS RIGHT, everything can be done with a friend. Which Im currently doing when i get free time! Im so glad I got this game, man, even just free-roaming with a friend is amazing, for example how I piss off a gang to distract them while he gets a chopper to destory their base and pick me up as we draw out an assassination target, and then CRASH THE HELICOPTER INTO HIM as we jump to safety in our well hidden boat and run away from the gang until their rage meter dies down. ALL OF THAT WAS NOT SCRIPTED, IT IS COMPLETELY POSSIBLE LITERALLY EVERYWHERE IN THE GAME. Its like your own action movie, where you decided what to do and when you do it, it is always awesome.

Not to mention this game is Hilarious!

Finally, its time to get mildly serious. Ive finished Clannad, and by far, it is the saddest anime Ive ever watched, and officially the best as well!

Last time I saw you guys, I was just 10 episodes In and was on the verge of tears. 38 episodes later my jumper is soaked. This anime is made me laugh one second, and cry the next. Each scene was more beautiful than the last and I honestly loved the characters to death. Without spoiling much (serious GO WATCH IT ASAP), it wasn't the depressing scenes that saddened me the most, but it was this one scene near the end, filled with realization, regret and a new revival that made me burst out in tears... with a gigantic smile on my face. That scene that made me cry was not all that depressing, but compassionate. I truly enjoyed the sunflower scene the most, infact, that whole episode. After Tomoya and his daughter reunite. It touched me more than anything else ever has in the entertainment industry. Unlike Angel Beats, the ending was simply perfect. It was not sad, nor did it leave me feeling empty, but it was fulfilling, satisfying and brought me... again, to tears. I cannot comprehend how wonderful this anime is. So please, GO now and watch it. You will not regret it.

The most Beautiful Scene in Anime

And you know what the best part is, Its not over. I'll admit while I am satisfied, i still want a little bit more clannad.... well... apparently there IS!. Not only where there 2 alternative universe episodes that showed the guy ending up with other girls (although Nagisa was the best, it was still entertaining to watch... and to dream) but not only that... Clannad is a Visual Novel... just like Katawa Shoujo, and it takes 300 hours to complete 100%... these feels...... 300 Hours of emotion, feels, plot, story, character development, fun and imagination WAITING FOR ME, and all of it rumored to be if not BETTER than Katawa Shoujo, the visual novel that also gave me similar feels. i want to play it, i need to play it, I cant actually comprehend after watching this life changing anime that  SO MUCH MORE is waiting for me, highlighting the routes of the girls that where never explored (excluding the 2 alternative routes) in the anime (Kyou Especially).

FFS year 12 END ALREADY. I have so much waiting for me, including you guys and much more to come. My list of games, anime, manga, visual novels to run through is almost endless and it only encourages me to work even harder for these end of year exams and get a great score in the end. So until then, I'll be posting as often as I can, I do enjoy it, although sometimes I barley get round to getting on the computer let alone the blog or internet. Goodbye for now, my friends, and  Remember; Love, Life, Peace, Prospes-GTFO THIS WEBSITE AND GO WATCH CLANNAD!!!! NOWAAWOOO!!!

Get Moving!

Thursday, May 31

My Friends, it has been a long time!

Hello everyone, its good to be back, even for this short while.

Last time we meet, I was waving goodbye about how intense the next year was going to be, how I would study Like I meant it, how I would go all out so I could get good grades then come back to gaming, anime, manga and steam near the end of the year… Well, I just finished my mid-Year exams yesterday. So I think Im allowed a good break or so, (and if the earlier post a few days ago wasn't an obvious hint) and Ive come back for a little while with a HUGE JUICY post on what has happened since I left, gaming and animation related, so sit back, enjoy and read this (hopefully not too big, but I feel it is needed to make up for everything I’ve missed out on)

"Im Back, baby"

Starting off, Lets look at some gaming!

I’ll admit Ive managed to fit a few hours for games on the slim weekend; usually it was battlefield 3, but not anymore. My love for battlefield has slowly been leaving me, it seems with the ridiculously patches and consistent problems with origin and battlelog are getting to me. Its only fun with friends and even then It was no match to my beloved bad company 2, which was exciting and so much more enjoyable. (one example is how it felt like an adventure every time I played rush… unlike battlefield 3 which makes it seems like a chore). And with this new battlefield premium service coming, I think the last ship is about to set sale. I don’t hate battlefield, it just seems I don’t love it as much as I used to.

So what can possibly fill the void for this game? Ive looked and BAM, it hit me in the head, it was so obvious before, why didn’t I see it......… ARMA!!!!. It’s the most realistic war simulator out there, and if you know me, I LOVE THAT. I don’t know why I didn’t see this before, maybe my battlefield fanboyism blinded me. But with ARMA 3 coming out soon, and how EPIC it looks (FREAKING SUCBA DIVING MAN). This might turn into my next main military FPS, as BF and COD don’t seem as good anymore.

I still cant believe I couldn't see how awesome this game looked before

And continuing the discussion of games… and ARMA… Did I ever tell you guys about that dream I have for a real zombie survival game, which revolves around barley staying alive, with about 50 other players in a large world with zombies everywhere in which you can decide to team up with others or kill each other…Well, In the recent trend… I think I’ve finally found this. It’s called DAY Z, an Arma 2 Mod which looks amazing, not only was I thinking of getting into arma, but GETTING TO PLAY DAY Z IS A REASON TO BUY ARMA. I mean, I could go all on about how this fits the bill for my sought after real zombie apocalyptic realistic survival FPS , but I have yet to play it so I cant confirm jut yet. Im planning to buy Arma 2 for me and a few friends at the end of the year and play through it then, even better as it will have more updates and fixes by then, but that’s when I will make my verdict (And I will have a large post on how it lives up to my expectations of the zombie survival game Ive always wanted). Here is a deep trailer about why this is so different, so realistic, so much like the game of my dreams I think im going to love it!

What else is there? That’s right!, I finished amnesia last time I got a bit of free time, and from my experience , is was one of the best single games Ive played. Truly the scariest game Ive played… ever. BUT, hear me out, so many people play the first few levels and stop playing because its too scary… THAT WAS ME AS WELL. So when I came back out to it, I discovered that its actually the most scariest at the start! After a while through the game, you get used to how the monsters work, you get used to how to run, hide and you can even sneak around within meters of monsters once you get used to it. This game is not too hard; you get better at it and… I guess that makes it less scary, but all the more fun! So those who think its too scary and not fun enough at the beginning, I WAS LIKE YOU, please, keep trying and you will see that it will get much more funner and less scary (STILL PRETTY DAMN SCARY THOUGH) than at the beginning. I believe this is partly due to the little amount of space you have to move in the first few levels with the monster, and how you are subjected to them without any knowledge of how to survive. But after a while, you will get used to it, and then it becomes fun and challenging scary rather than shit my pants scary.

On Another note, I love the fanart for Daniel (guy you play as in Amnesia), its kinda what I though he looked like, but this fits his character so well.

This guys is hotter than pancakes!

I also played Justine, but had one problem. This DLC IS HARD! You cannot save, if you didn’t know already and the monsters one hit you, BUT not only that but they get wayyyy harder to avoid in the later levels, especially the water one, AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT if you DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO IN ALMOST NO TIME AT ALL, YOU WILL DIE. That’s the thing of Justine, it’s too challenging, and punishes you heavily for relying on trial and error, which is basically what you need in order to survive in Justine WITHOUT THE SAVE. So I ended up using a guide, because it is too hard, but when I did… I STILL FOUND IT HARD, RUSHED AND ADRENEILINE FILLED. Maybe that’s the point, but heed my warning!!! This DLC is hard and not like the full game, be warned and tread with caution, don’t be afraid to use a walkthrough before you get too frustrated to continue.

And as Cleft pointed out, there’s a sequel coming out, I am very excited and cant wait to play it as well. The only problem is it feels like it will be less scary, Why? What scared me most in amnesia was the torture chambers, this is because they were realistic. These horrid things actually happened to people and seeing them almost made me puke, and imaging me in them scared the pants out of my shit. Soooo, now we have a new game, that themes around killing pigs… how is that going to be more scary than torturing HUMANS?!?!? I cant relate to pigs, but I CAN relate to humans. Oh well, ahahahahah AHAHAHA, and this is why it’s going to be all so more exciting, I’m itching to see what they come up with to make this truly frightening.

Scary? We shall see!

With gaming, it also seems I have been able to get my hands on a Dota 2 beta key. This is extremely recent, and as a Game im looking forward to, Im mega happy. Personally, Im going to see if I can get some basic skills before it realises officially. But I’ll give ya my verdict on this in a few days, which I still should have some free time and played a decent amount of it.

 NOW ONTO SOME ANIMATION.
As playing games can take up to hours and hours, Ive been spending few blocks of my spare time watching cartoons and anime. Starting off with anime, I got round to finishing Full Metal Panic!? Fummouffu, which is probably the funniest anime ive seen, The comedy is golden so any other anime lovers reading this should check it out.

Another Anime (not full metal panic, forgive me for the typo) I have also started to watch is Clannad. This is said to be the most depressing and saddest anime created to date. Im only 10 episodes in where it hasn’t even got into anything near its dramatic climax and I can confirm this. Its already depressing me… in a good way. I love sad things that make me cry, just ask all the ninjas I blame for cutting onions on my desk. This anime ts turning out to even possibly top my all time favourite of Angel beats. As Im only half way through, I cant make any fair judgements and will give you my full review of this in a few days along with Dota 2. But like I said, so far this is amazing.

Fuko-chan.... D":

And Now, Ive saved the best news to last, but Promise me you will not make any bias judgements, read it til the end. I’ll put it especially in points so you can easily understand what I’m saying, If you haven’t yet promised to be unbias, don’t read on.

So you’re going to be accepting and unbias?, even for a minute? Awesome. So, What is all this, well, recently, Ive found a new love, although not as much as my love for anime, manga and games. Ive done what I sorta thought I might have ( as an internet otaku gamer, It seems like something I could appreciate) but still It happened…

Ive become a Brony, I Like My little Pony: Friendship is Magic

'Oh no, shock horror, kill me now before its too late?'.... No seriously, as promised, here are the points I want you to understand, to understand why.
  • The Truth, By My little Pony, I mean generation 4 Friendship is magic (latest one post Oct 2010) All the other generations were highly demographical to younger target audience, however this one is not as much. How so? Its produced by the game person who made the powerpuff girls, fosters home for imaginary friends Phineas & Ferb … I loved those shows not long ago (about 5 years maybe, before we cut foxtell). My little pony Friendship is Magic (FiM is what I call it now so there are no misunderstandings) Truly is different than what Im sure everyone hated about MLP before
  • Its fantastic, the writing is excellent, the animation is crisp, the music is great and the overall story has PLOT. That’s right, there are dragons, magic, evilness, and the themes, OH THE DARK MATURE THEMES (that I can appreciate from those long hard hours of English study); Here are some of the best examples I can give Image 1, Image 2, please look at how purely its themes make this show so much more mature and different from any other.
  • About the Plot, although I said its got Plot, its not the best. There are so many times where I personally think I could make a much darker, more interesting like anime with twists or something tear0jerking as well as insanely awesome. Sadly, its not an anime, and It depresses me as it will never have super awesome epic plot. I mean, it won’t even get close to Avatar the Last Airbender, which is the least of what I would want (avatar still had awesome plot, just Ive seen better… and darker plot in other animes I would prefer.). Even the villan fights end with the villain getting too cocky and ‘letting the others win’ instead of bloody getting serious and WIPING THE FLOOR WITH THEM. (see below my post on discord). Although the show is still good enough, there are some magic battles, and the mystery about the lore, twilights true power, celestia’s secrets and much more that I can appreciate and although its not the best, that’s why I still love anime and will just enjoy this show for its what it does best in a non-anime way.
  • The Fandom, the entire fandom and its huge diversity is ANOTHER AWESOME thing of this show. I mean, there are so many comics, animations, music (OH how I Love eurobeat brony, his music is some on my new electric favourites), communities (/r/mylittlepony has turned to be my most favourite subbreddit would you believe, partiull because r/anime has  a lot I don’t know abiyt, r/manga is a little underpopulated, and r/naruto is awesome, but not as popular as r/mlp) and the pure diversity, there is something for everyone, wither you like grimdark or dawwww , there is so much more I could go on about, but I’ll leave that for another day. In detail
  • Grimdark, Well, I did say that I’ll leave this for another day in detail, so I’ll give it brief, One of my favourite fandoms of MLP is the grimdark. I love grimdark, If you know me, you know I Love dark themes, themes of death, destruction, sacrifice, violence and evilness. FiM doesn’t make use of as much, some animes do, But the Grimdark fandom is more than enough for me. I’ll go into detail much more later, with examples, be prepared, MUAHAHAHAHAHA
  • Discord, This GUY is one of my favourite villains. He’s super powerful, omnipotent, a troll and actually interesting with a deep backstory. He’s the villain of the second season’s pilot episodes and without spoiling too much, I can safely say he’s my favourite character in FiM, my favourite pony is another thing, but Discord is just too awesome. Any trekkies know about Q from Star trek?… well.. lets say Discord is his long lost cousin… who am I kidding HE IS VOICED BY THE SAME PERSON AS Q FROM STAR TREK. This is enough to see how awesome he is, and why he is one reason for watching this show alone. Discord, however, he never took the mane 6 (pun on 6 main cast and mane as pony hair) seriously and let them beat him. He could have wiped the floor with them, he could have conjured his dark powers and defeated the elements of harmony in one shot, HE COULD HAVE KILLED THEM IF HE WANTED TO. He did show us how he could bend the laws of nature, physics and order to his VERY WILL. He just wasn’t serious enough, and sigh, that’s because this is a kid’s show with lacking dark themes and too many safe themes like ‘the good guys always win’ blah blah. I don’t care, Discord is best pony!
  • My Favourite Pony? I have already said discord was my favourite Character, but who is my favourite pony? We’ll, I’ll be stright its Pinkamena Diana Pie. BUT, this is not the normal pinkie pie, this is her dark psychopathic split personality yandere side that ive fallen in love with (and I love Yandere’s, If my love for grimdark and dark themes wasnt an obvious indication in the first place). However, the side that I love most only exists in the grimdark fandom, but my favourite overall canon-wise is Pinkie Pie. She crazy, funny, odd, just like me, I can somewhat relate if that’s the best way to describe it, and honestly, I enjoy her being on the screen, even if it’s a comic relief to ruin the half done over plot that feels like a wasted potential, so whoop, whoop. In a sense, she still is Pinkamena , as she DID come out crazy In my favourite episode; Party of One, in which pinkie shows her true colours of insecurity and craziness, which in an argument I had lead me to prove how it relates to psychotic behaviour… and makes me love Pinkamena so much More. Pinkie Pie has much character depth to me, I can relate to her, I love both her sides and she is very similar to my own divided personality of psychotic behaviour and joyful craziness (which I’d rather not discuss right this instant). So She is my favourite pony, Discord is still my favourite character, unless he doesn’t return at all (due to lazy plot) and Pinkamena comes out  more… murderous in later episodes and plot, maybe in a battle, that would be cool. But split personality psychopaths that get strong and have epic battles with the villains only exist in anime (Marri Nikki, I’m looking at you)

Pinkamena/Pinkie Pie

And, That’s enough for today. I hope you can see why I love My little pony with those few, I can expand and explain in greater detail later on. But for now, if you love it, great, but if you don’t, don’t hate, everyone has differences. I can argue to my death the very complexities of psychological dementures and philosophical aspects of both objective and subjective opnions in the sense of favouritism, diversity and integral differences of the human intercept. But I’d rather not. Accept me for who I am, I mean, My names fricken Joyduck, as If that wasn’t a clear enough indication that I don’t give fucks about what people think of me.

But for those who do care, for those who do read, for those who don’t hate me and for those who have followed this blog for a while. Thank you, Thank you so much. Me and Cleft cant describe how awesome it is to blog and have people enjoy reading, even if we are inactive or not very personal sometimes, and even if we are not professional at all. I mean, I write what I’m thinking, I don’t actually waste time making sure my posts are politically correct, professional or unbias, its my post, and that’s what Im here to bring to you. This is not a news site, this is an opinion blog, we love it and we love games/anime. But most of all we love you, please, stay with us to the end!...

Well, at least the end of this year, because I have HEAPS of fun stuff planned, tonnes, and it doesn’t just involve us, but it involves YOU. Ive been thinking of ideas and when I finally finish year 12, Why shouldn’t we host some….competitions? That’s right, I don’t care if only a few people read this blog, one or 2 is enough, all the better for you, If I have a competition in future (which is most likely my plan), of an awesome game and only 2 dedicated followers enter, then they both have a 50% chance of winning. Is that not awesome? (for whoever is reading this lol)

I don’t need popularity to have fun, personally, I value one moral above all

Loyalty

Until then, thanks for reading (seriously, you deserve a medal reading all that), so see you in a few days! (also, forgive me for any typos or spelling errors, I try my best but like everyone else, Im prone to typological errors)

LGNS/Joyduck7's GOTY 2011 - Portal 2

I know its a bit late, and how this is also not as big as those major gaming media companies who contribute to the overall vote, but I'll add a little bit on what I though was game of the year and why, so forgive its roughness as its just a quick (and long for my standards) overview of my GOTY, i didnt cover everything and only some of the parts that stood out to me to make this my GOTY! So unless you haven't read the title, its Portal 2! My favourite game this year with Going back to aperture, the place of conspiracy, corruption and evil disk operating systems.

The first portal was simply amazing, it drew in every aspect of creativity and brain-bending puzzles, and the second improves on that in everyway. Its as everyone says, insanely hard puzzles until you solve them, and then you feel stupid. This is an amazing rare experience that is rarly seen not just in games, but in anything nowadays, and when in co-op, the experience doubles as you and your partner may try and try again to outsmart each other, only making yourself look even more as an idiot, but thats only part of the fun compared to working together! The single player campagin for me was brilliant, from start to finish, it was interactive, fast but not rushed, had huge verity, puzzles straight forward & others which you could approach many different ways like the original portal (especially in the white gel parts) and i enjoyed every moment of it, especially the most epic climax in a game i have ever experienced (cant spoil it) followed by the most satisfying ending i also have experienced in a games ending, as this really was the 'end', seeing how we dont expect chell to appear again. The co-op following was equally as amazing, everything the single player did right but not only with a friend, but with another interesting story, that although wasnt as 'impacting' was just as engaging and still managed to give not such an end, but an opening, as shown by the follow DLC as well that the co-op story still has yet to end, maybe we'll see one more future DLC campaign, but whatever it is, im sure it will be awesome. If you want a satisfying co-op experience (like I did), then get Portal 2, but be careful, in some cases its like sex, treat your first time wisely as once you've played the game through once it isnt the same the second time (not entirly in a bad way).

Another reason for me to give it GOTY is the incredible soundtrack; including the use of interactive/dynamic music while doing puzzles (especially the use of classical, oh how i love that) and even better the original sounds at the end. Yes, we still got a GLaDOS single, but for me it was the Turret Orchestra that blew me away, so good that i downloaded it to listen to it on my iPod, man, i only wish there was a longer version. Many people seem to complain about its short length, although it is short, i think it was perfect for the type of game, any longer and it would have been repetitive, any shorter and it wouldnt feel like a real game, so to me it hit the sweet spot of what I would call a satisfying single player experience. The co-op depends on how good you are with your friends, although slightly shorter than the single player, i think its good, as i managed to get a whole convinant play though with my friend in one day and experience it all fully at once, rather than in sections every now and then and having to tireringly track down your partner, sort times and make arrangements if the co-op were to be really long and took quite a few plays (starting up the game) to get through it. The replayability for me was the achievements, although many stopped after they 'completed the game', i saw much more replayability in going back and getting all those 'possible for once' achievements, which i had fun doing and saw much more things than i though in the campaign such as the new rat man dens. Even in co-op, they were even more challenging and fun to do, this enabled me to play through it more than once without it feeling all the reptitive and still managed for me to enjoy myself. So its length and replaybility for me was spot on!

People also seem to complain about the source engine, and how the graphics in Portal 2 'aren't the best', to me thats not a problem. I grew up in gaming with the source engine through lovable titles such as CSS, Gmod, TF2, L4D and I still love it to bits, to me it looks awesome and never gets old. The controls and physics are top notch and the graphic standards in portal 2 itself i though was extremely good, there was nothing i saw 'amazing' in the graphics, but there was DEFINITELY nothing i saw bad! If your one of those graphic-whore haters, than maybe Portal 2 wont float your boat, and if it doesnt because of that reason I think your a fcuking retard, but thats just me. Overall, i think Portal 2 wins it for me, Theres so much more i can cover of why this game for me was the best game i played this year, although Serious Sam 3 would take the best FPS action game (until i got optimisation abuse, read more below), the game i had the most fun with and enjoyed was Portal 2, the consistent post-game support as well as free DLC has continued to make it look better and better and i hope future DLC will also be just as exciting!

Now you may be wondering why i would chose Portal 2 over some other titles, so i'll give it to you straight and tell you about my experiences with other'large' titles, starting with skyrim. Skyrim was NOT my GOTY. To me it had a huge amount of content and lots to do, but that was it, graphics werent that amazing and i found them hard to love as well as the poor engine, the quests got quite repetitive after a while and can be said as either 'exploring, killing or collecting' in a nutshell. There was no co-op when i think it was quite possible and the single player campagin missions as well as the gulid missions (although better than oblivion) still werent impressing. Dragons were also disappointing and got repetitively easy after a while. Although the music was one of the best parts of the game to me (I love orchestral scores with huge verity), the biggest issue was the lack of motiovation in skyrim, after a while i honestly did not care what i did, who i did it for and why, i was drawn away from the game and it felt like a chore, i had the big issue of  "i have heaps of quests to do but i dont give a fcuk if  i do them or not" and that to me ruined this sort of game. Skyrim was not my GOTY, and infact, it wasnt really that much of an enjoyable game to me for what it sold itself for; Portal 2 being a quite satisfying experience with excellence co-op which i managed to enjoy to the fullest while skyrim being a large game with heaps of stuff to do aiming for a huge experience but was too much of the same thing for me and failed to meet my expectations of what i though i would get out of the game. What i did get out, i didnt enjoy that much, but i did enjoy the game to an extend, but not at all good enough for it to be even considered one of my top favourite games, let alone GOTY. Other titles such as Batman AC and Uncharted 3 I HAVE NOT PLAYED either due to the horrible costs ($99) or even worse the bloody exclusiveness of the game. Serious Sam 3 was also very close to my GOTY as i had so much fun in the first hours i played it, but it was the fact that it fun at 20FPS on the lowest settings on everything, especially splitscreen and the poor support that followed afterwards that drove it away from me, unable to get a satisfying experience from it. Dead island wasn't that engaging and even in co-op i didnt feel as though i had as much fun with my friends as i did in Portal 2. Lastly, Battlefield 3 for me was really really good, its just that the maps were poorly designed compared to BF2 and BC2, this put me off and really, the web browser  server browser was also very very weird it, and although worked, we did not ask for it and DID NOT WANT IT. Back to maps, I didnt play much until B2K came out AND WHEN IT DID, i noticed i couldn't play properly with my mouse, so although not the games fault, I am waiting for a new mouse before playing this game because i want a complete experience and not some half dumbwit one when i cant aim, but even so, the absolutely worse most possible thing that happened, that battlefield 3 contains the thing i ABSOLUTELY HATED MOST OUT OF ANY OTHER GAME THIS YEAR, and i'll describe how it was an utterly terrible selfish asshole retarded move, idea and rip off in three words; BLOODY FUCKING ORIGIN!!!!!!. But back to being civilized, honestly, this would make a good third behind SS3 and Portal 2 as there is much i can compliment about this game, but also a bit that i can criticize.. (you know who to blame)

So there it is, my GOTY and why, and also as importantly why others werent. Remember this is just my opinion and if you disagree, thats fine, I just hope you had as much fun with Portal 2 as  i did, and if you havent got it yet, GET IT, it when down to $7.5 in the steam sales, and im sure with all the valve coupons you got you could easily buy it soon, even without theses its only $30 and im sure you could easily afford that compared to other horribly priced games (AC, MW3, BAC, im LOOKING AT YOU). Portal 2 was a great game this year, infact this year was a great year, and i hope next year will be as well, especially with two upcoming titles that have caught my attention; Fortnite for having a chance at being a game ive wanted for a long time, and Borderlands 2 for possibly improving everything i loved about the first Borderlands (and thats a heck of a lot). Spiral Knights ... the low down!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Im sure many of you guys has taken part of, or at least heard of the new free-2-play craz on steam. Dont worry if you haven't, its not a bad thing, theres nothing to lose, and best of all, everything is FREE! Steam/Valve have recently released a set number of F2P (free to play) games for anyone with a (free) steam account can download and play! Everyone knows tf2 is free, so while your taking a break from that, why not try out a little fun MMORPG game called Spirl Knights

Ive recently just started playing this, but the thing is, im not addicted! Its a great game and all, i really do enjoy it, but because of its free-2-play status, you pretty much have to buy stuff to progress aggressively, I on the other hand, have just been able to get by without spening a cent, and im already up to a full set of tier 2 weapons! This game so far is amazing fun, i was looking for a great co-op game/mmo and this fills the spot. Im glad im not as addicted as i though i would be, otherwise i would have spent more than $1000 or something lol!

Anyway, this is the great free game, im not writing a review here, look at the other sites for that, but im just recommending it, its free, theres nothing to lose, you also get a cool knight hat for your new free version of tf2 if you do a certain achievement! Believe me, its worth playing a few hours of it, and because energy can still recharge, i only really go on for 10-30 minutes a day, using the energy charged from the night before, and its still fun. Dont overlook or look down on this game because its free and you have to pay to advance faster! Take it slow and steady, enjoy the rid, and believe me, you'll have even more fun without spending a cent.

Über Joyduck Update: Exams Finished and E3!!!

Yes, Finally!!!!!!!! i have finished my huge amount of study, exams are over and I’m very confident i did well :) now it’s time to relax and play some games, make some more videos and all that!

I'll need to get round to adding some more videos, don’t worry, they will come eventually! But more onto some news! Although our site is more centred around the best gaming platform of all time and which still is... the PC! But we'll also post some interesting news, especially E3, which i have been missing out on recently, so I’ll sum up some important points

  • Moar Battlefield 3 Awesomeness, YES, will be probably the best game this year, in my opinion, as all the Battlefields Ive played are the best War FPS out of all the many ones i have, yes, Battlefield is better than CoD.. wake up :)
  • New Nintendo Console, well, so far its smaller, but still impressive, the Wii U. It actually looks good, a nicer way to enjoy the Wii, except this is the same feeling i had for the DS an Wii originally until they got repetitive and boring (to me..), so lets see how Nintendo keeps its hardcore fan base this time rather than its (as PC gamer rightfully said) Nint-infants/oldies...
  • Bioshock Infinite is looking even better despite destroying my anticipation of going back to rapture and my favorite villains, the big daddies, although i might end up buying BI for its story and character development, Subject Delta will always have a special place in my hall of fame!
  • Elder Scrolls 5, Skyrim, has now lost half of its credibility! That’s right, it has been announced to be made for consoles, and then ported to pc, Smart choice Bethesdasoft , way to go ruin the game for the loyal PC community. Now we'll have to deal with dumbed down textures and graphics whereas if it was made for the PC, it would be so much better... sigh... another one bites the dust..
  • Dead Island looks even better with a more story perspective now, especially how its all in First person view... realistic... just the way i like it. But with all these scenes and awesome looking events, it looks like something from half life 2 (scripted cut scenes and events), but i mean is the half life story was amazing single player, and although synergy is an awesome co-op half life 2 mod, it never told the hl2 story as well as single player as its made for single. So looking at dead island and how it seems to take an important story perspective gameplay, how will they ever do this co-op. I only saw one person in the falling lift scene (seen in the trailer), how will they achieve this as a successful co-op game, i look forward to it :)

Well, there’s Joyduck7's spin on E3 for the time been (lol, Bias or not, its still pretty much what’s going on), I’ll try keep up to date on other important announcements soon, (probably Bf3 lol) but still, I’m Back, its official, so get excited!

Wooo, Another upload, and more info

Im on a role considering i can barly stay on the computer for long, so i can never play games on weekdays due to intensive law, economic study aha :P

But Yea, i got another of the HL2:DM videos up, rather than consistantly posting the video(s), here is just the playlist link, check it out and watch a few, me and sheep are the best of friends muahaha

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=PL346E948DD0B9CA83

On another note, does anything think i should make more screenshot posts? for those who cant really view videos. It would be a heck of a lot easier for me sometimes to just write about (for example) an awesome l4d2 experience and provide a few screen shots rather than having to go and film it, either way, as long as you guys are happy, so am i ;)

EDIT: I finished the new page i was working on, its called gameplay series and contains all of our current gameplay series, check there to watch everything we've done ;) http://lifegamingnerdy.blogspot.com/p/gameplay-series.html
