i have been engulfed by the amazing thing that is katawa shoujo and another visual novel and have fallen in love with them

i finished katawa shoujo 2day and am starting my second play through and cant wait to play it
i will do a full review when i can drag my self away from homework , katawa and this other visual novel :p
but now ..... its time for a long needed break from home work for some silent hill :)

Cleftlipkid here once again bringing you a post chock full of lots of awesome stuff.

First of all lets start with the physical stuff: parkour. My friends at Youtube.com/iloveflyingpenguins

have just released a new video and it is Really really epic. These guys do some really cool parkour stuff and have just got a new camera so the video quality is worth viewing. Apologise for there being no Res evil review, I was bussy the night it was on so recorded it but my record stuffed up L so I am really sorry but I won’t be able to do the res evil review extinction review.

Year 12 Has Started...

Yes, It has, Probably the most important year of my life so far... and im not letting it go to waste!
If you dont know already, Im studying full on, aiming for an top score, an Ace in all my subjects
I have a plan, sadly one that does not involve games, so this is why Im here now

I will be rarly playing games at all, maybe an hour on the weekends, and thats it, I'll also try to blog post, but theres no real point so I wont be here a lot either. So this is a temporary goodbye from me...

BUT This is not the end, After year 12, i will be FULL ON in games, manga, anime and everything i love, i will be having a huge break before Uni, and even afterwards Uni wont be as hard as year 12 (says my older friends) and I'll have heaps of time. So after the next 6-8 months, EXPECT ME :D

But for now, I will be studying, hard! It wont be easy, I probably wont enjoy it, but wish me luck!

Our lovely friends at Valve have kindly put a sale on war hammer games. They have also released the multiplayer and last stand part of retribution for free but only for this weekend. For that i am very glad as the game was running VERY low on people after skyrim came out and took all of the players(grrr) this is giving DoW 2 a new lease of life by adding new players to the falling numbers.

(it also means there are now new noobs to pwn )

thats all for me atm but i may try to get a game of multiplayer with LH5432101 tonight and record it.
the reason i haven't been recording stuff is because my hard drive is REALLY full atm but i will clear it out later.

My tips on how to get up Really early

-the background(why am I doing this) about 3-4 days every school week I have to get up at 5:30 am to be able to do music practice and get to school in time for 7:45 rehearsals for a 9:00 start. Today is the first day back and wow the 5:30 really isn’t fun after getting used to going to bed at 2am and getting up at about 10 or 11 am. So these are my tips to get up , stay up and function early in the morning.

1 Get a alarm and set it: if you (like me and so many others) have a ipod get a ipod dock alarm thingy. As it is SOOOOOO much easier to get up to your own music blaring then a stupid bleaping of a alarm. My recommendations is music that really gets you going and excited, for me that’s dubstep or happy techno. Before I used music my first reaction to hearing my alarm was to turn it off and roll over. Not so with music as I love the songs soo much I sit up and listen to the first song then get up and plug in my head phones so I can keep listening to it as I get breakfast.

2 have some one come and check on you. If you do switch off your alarm and fall asleep again ( or just accidentally fall asleep again (I have been guilty of both) then have some one who is able to check on you, just to make sure you have got up and if you have fallen asleep again to wake you up. As much as I love sleeping I still know I need to get up so its usually entirely unintentional(most of the time :D)

3 some peole talk about needing a hot cupa to get them up in the morning, others swear by energy drinks. Neither of them do any thing for me and the energy drinks just make me tired after about 20 mins. If your really struggling to get up early then go to bed earlier. There should be no need to have any drink or food as you should be able to manage without it.

4 my final tip is when you don’t have to get up early (eg weekends) then CATCH UP ON SLEEP!

If ur getting up at 5:30 on week days don’t get up if you don’t have to. Your body needs to rest so give it a chance.

The hardest part of getting up is actually getting vertical and out of bed, your not going to fall asleep at the kitchen table(don’t try it, its not comfortable or good for your back :p) once your up you will generally stay up as long as you keep moving you will be just fine.

Sherlock Holmes: a Game of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes 2 Review

The newest addition to the Sherlock Holmes Franchise—“A game of Shadows”—starring Robert Downey Jnr and Jude law manages to give new life to a set of characters and stories which have been (like so many of their subjects) ‘Done to death’ in recent years—(forgive the appalling pun).

Like its predecessor, the film is slap-sticky and over-stuffed with fight-scenes. Here again Holmes is pitted against a nefarious criminal master-mind—this time professor one professor Moriarty (an academic-cum-arms-dealer determined to bring about World War 1 before the turn of the 20th century)—in a game of wits and firepower.

For anyone looking for serious, intellectual viewing, seeing this film would be an exercise in pointlessness But for good old-fashioned fun, this film is hard to beat. Yes it’s silly—at times uprouariously so but it remains remarkably un-pretentious or self-conscious.

Both the leads deliver strong performances. Robert Downey Jnr is hilarious as the self-centred, slightly camp, loutish Holmes with an obsession for detail and conspiracy theories, who has the irritating habit of previewing every fight scene to its conclusion in his head first. Jude Law’s Watson as the ‘straight man’ of the two (in more ways than one) alternates between enthusiastic admiration for his buddy’s antics and the sheer irritation/ despair of a man who has had his honeymoon disrupted and his new bride throne off a (very high) bridge by his best friend.

Stephen Fry, too, does a fine job as the aristocratic Mycroft—Holmes well connected brother, with an amusing predilection for nudism. Although the women of the film play very limited roles

Yes, it’s over the top, yes at times it’s stereotypical but I confess to being unable to predict the film’s final twist. For laugh-out loud viewing, and light weight fiction Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows certainly delivers

More SH5 homecoming (+boobies)

Just a quick continuation of my SH 5 review. After finding a glitch causing a item to not appear I started again from the beginning and am now not so sure if it was a glitch or if I’m just a shit head( I may have just been stupid and not been able to find the item (but I did look up its location and checked there so ….))

I have been coming across some audio glitches where there is no, muffled or any number of other audio weirdness happening at times. I don’t think this would usually happen but is a result of a kinda shit copy ( you get what you payed for (especially when its free))

I have noticed some interesting things: there is no sense of urgency. In other games you are very directed, so at all times have objectives which you are directed to so you all ways know what you should be doing. Not so much in SH 5. You often are left to your own devices to explore and find your own way. This isn’t a bad thing but I find a sense of urgency adds to the game and helps with horror aspects.

The combat ( this may be another time where I’m just a shit head ) I quite like the combat, its smooth and very well done, but if you stuff up (which I do) and a monster gets into a combo it is very difficult to escape and you very quickly take a lot of damage, this can be quite frustrating, its probably just me sucking but hey.

Another thing I have noticed is my play style. In horror games I generally try to kill all enemy’s before I stop, look around and progress, collecting any items and such. This play style fits well in a game like dead space where the enemy’s are fast and specifically target you. This play style doesn’t work as well in SH5 as the monsters are slow and can be easily run around allowing you to conserve your ammo and health. I have been seeking out each enemy and killing them which has left me severely depleted in health and ammo. Tip: if it can be avoided then avoid it( duhh)

I am still really impressed by the graphics(look back at the boobies above and you will agree(hi def boobies :D )) this Thursday another Res evil movie is on so I will give a review on that, also on the topic of reviews Nsharp8 has finished her reviews and will hopefully be giving them to me 2moro (or 2day as it is now 12:10 am) I also have some other people who may be writing reviews for me and I will give you more info if I have any guaranteed reviews coming.

Resident evil apocalypse

I stumbled across this movie while I was channel surfing so I missed the start, I actually have no idea how far in I was in so I can't give a perfect review but I can give it a go. From what I worked out the story starts with a infection caused by the umbrella corporation that have released the T Virus ( I think) causing a zombie out break

The main characters are(in order on the pic above) Alice (x3) who had been being tested on in the umbrella labs, Jill valentine, i cant remember the name of the next guy but he is cool. a reporter, a gangster sort of person and a one of Jill’s friends. When racoon city is put into quarantine and a nuclear strike ordered it’s a race to get out. On the way they are contacted by a scientist

who’s daughter is still trapped in the city, if they rescue her he will get them out. Lots of gunfire , and epicenes follow which includes the hero’s fighting the great beast called Nemesis( who is really bad ass :P ) kill lots of zombies and generally give umbrella a big headache.

I wont put in any plot spoilers (even tho the movie is old) I quite enjoyed, its fun, epic and has tones of zombies. What’s not to love. I don’t think it’s a amazing film but its certainly very watchable and I enjoyed it quite a bit

if your looking for horror then i dont think this is the movie for you as it isnt really that scarry, but its still a very good actoin thriller type movie. If you have the chance to watch it i would take it.

I have alot to review, I went and saw the new movie Hugo 2day and am watching resident evil apocalypse i will try to write some info on them. becase i have a lan party at 10 am 2moro i dont have time to write a full review but might try to combine them both into one post.

also Nsharp8 has finished some more reviews on TinTin and and the new sherloc holms movie. I hope to have them up in the next few days.

When the holidays end the amount of game related stuff coming out from me or joyduck will be drematicly reduced as both of us will be dealing with the stresses and work load of yr 12

....... in rex evil related stuff u know when u see the world from the eyes of the baddy that the character is pritty much fucked ( some one was just offed quite spectacularly ) as theyare trying to survive some supper fast zombie thing in the stario tipical church scene and then a epic chick rides through the gient stain glass window and runs over it *cue slow mo explotons*

i think its time i say tah tah for tonight as i need to keep watching the movie but i am still working on many more song ideas and mash ups

great day. went round to a friends house, tried to console a sad friend, almost got hit by a car and fell off my bike .... : /
aside from that silent hill 5 has glitched for me. there is a missing item which i need to be able to compleat the level and move on. becase of this i have had to restart the game so will be a little longer to get more sh stuff out.
If the bug is still there this time i will have to either see if i can do some weird stuff with the files. i have no idea if this would work but they have to have the individual models and item locatoins in the files, so if the file is missing couldnt i copy the previous item ( i have to collect all 3 memories one is missing) so memory 2 and rename it to the next item. eg if memory 2 was labled in the file mem2 i might be albe to copy mem2 rename it mem3 and do some other stuff..... im probably insain. yeah definantly.

any now cuz this isnt a big sh post there are no boobies for you.

Katawa Shoujo: My Experience

Its Finished, its Done, My first few playthroughs of Katawa Shoujo, on Both Emi and Hanako's trail

its just amazing in every way, this game/anime/visual novel caught me by surprise

45 Hours Ive reading/enjoying what is probably one of the best games ive ever played

and Im only 40% of completeing it thoroughly

Its one of the most linear straight forward games in the world, in existence

yet but it outplays many other games in the market

The Plot, the Music, the Moments, oh so defining and heartbreaking

and you and your decisions are in control, they define the outcome, your destiny

Everything is handled genuinely and honest, no offending or disturbing... just sincere

although there's some partciular content i'd rather it not include, but its only minimal

And most of all, incredible plot & writing, How i ever felt so sad, on the my seats edge

This game changed my perspective on life, and if you played it, so would you

For one of the few time in my life.... I shed manly tears

So as of now, ive already completed two routes (One which i was honest in and the other in which i wanted to do the most), so I think im going to take a long break. This game is truly one of my favorites of all time, Ive played enough about it for now and will write heaps more about it whenever i pick it up again. This is mainly because it takes so much time to completely play through it all and I guess i wont have the time needed to play through everyone else, not now or not in a few months, but I will soon enough, and when I do, i'll be sure to write all about it, but for now, I'll leave you all with that.

Silent hill homecoming ( + some waffling )

Silent Hill 5 Homecoming.

I may ramble on or go into way to much detail

I picked this game up yesterday to give me something to compare SH3 to the newest game in the series and let me say I’m impressed

The story is intriguing, I am not that far in but I want to know more. I already know what happens as I have watched a walkthrough, but I still really want to experience it my self as its always more scary when you experience it.

The graphics are very impressive, some good screen shots remind me of high quality black ops shots. It looks great and play’s smoothly, the main character Alex at times can be mistaken for a real person the graphics are that good. Unfortunately I can't find any options in the main menu to change the quality and resolution. The only bugs I have is the map and the child’s drawings are really low def. I think it might just be my game as other play throughs I have seen do not have that problem. Its minor but it annoying as I can't see the words written on it or make out what the drawing is meant to be. On the other side I was very impressed at the model quality

It detail even goes to the point that when you pick up a item you can examine the item up close and rotate it. You can read serial numbers on items and first aid kits have specs of blood on them. this amount of detail is just extraordinary. The detail reminds me of the extreme detail in Amnesia the dark decent.

The game play is very fluid, I am most impressed with the gameplay. Every thing runs soo smoothly I have lots of praise for the gameplay. You have two stances: passive and aggressive( or what ever u want to call them.) in the passive stance you have your weapon by your side and can run around enemy’s but in the combat stance you have your weapon at the ready and lock on to the nearest enemy ready for you to unleash either a strong or weak attack. Weak attacks are quick, deal less damage(duhh) and can be chained together, strong attacks can be charged and can stun.

Using different combination against different enemy’s with the right weapon to begin a very quick brutal finishing move, for ferals(the monster dog things) the combo when holding the lead pipe results in a vicious animation of u shoving a pipe through the dogs head.

Wow …. I have gone into WAY too much detail….. wow…. Uhh

… um and I have sooo much more to say. I just have soo much fun writing these.

To stop you having to read a entire book on SH I will save the rest for the next post but….

The first thing that struck me when I started up Sh3 was that there was absolutely no tutorial, I know this isn’t unheard of but I’m used to games that give you just the basics: WASD to move and how to attack. It was fairly standard but it’s still a little confusing.

The second thing that struck me was the camera angles and fixed camera. About 90% of my games on steam are first person games and 9 of the other 10 are third person with only about one some thing else. This is why the camera of sh3 confused me. For those of you who don’t know the camera is a loose 3^rd person camera with a fixed position camera at other times. It will follow your movements but if you turn around it will stay at the rotation it is unless you manually adjust it (just press tab and move the mouse ). This took me a bit of time to work out and found it made combat difficult and kindda down right annoying. The fixed camera is as if the camera is (fixed) locked in a position and doesn’t move, I also found this quite confusing

I guess im just too used to more modern games but the combat of sh3 really felt weird. After playing lots of games where combat is meant to occur and is easy to do to the combat of sh3. Due to the camera and the lack of a health bar on screen it was difficult to know how low health I was with out moving to my inventory.

From the videos of game play I have seen people generally try to avoid combat unless they have to, I generally try to seek out my enemy’s and kill them as knowing they are dead makes me feel a lot safer.

I guess the most important thing about the silent hill games is the story so I might restart on easy just so I can experience the story with out the frustration of the gameplay. Even though I have been quite critical I still am defiantly going to keep playing. Originaly I picked up the Silent hill franchise as I I realised that as a survival horror fan I hadn’t ventured into one of the biggest survival horror franchises out there.

More SH stuff coming soon as I am also installing SH5 right now, from the vids I have seen it looks closer to the games im used to then SH3.

i have quite reciently (as in yesterday) obtained silent hill 3 and am going to obtain homecoming quite soon so expect some info about them aswell. im sorry i havent been making videos. i am very shy about talking and really get quite scared at the thought of making one. i also have not had the time or been bothered.

bioshock 2's weird license agreements

honestly i have no idea how I saw this as sitting down and reading the license agreement is the last thing i never do when i get a game, i usualy skip to playing it :p

the strange thing is in the user generated content section and reads: "software may allow you to create content including but not limited to a game play map, a scenario, screenshot of a car design or video of your gameplay"

what does a screenshot of a car design have to do with any thing nearly bioshock 2 related ?

LGNS/Joyduck7's GOTY 2011 - Portal 2

I know its a bit late, and how this is also not as big as those major gaming media companies who contribute to the overall vote, but I'll add a little bit on what I though was game of the year and why, so forgive its roughness as its just a quick (and long for my standards) overview of my GOTY, i didnt cover everything and only some of the parts that stood out to me to make this my GOTY! So unless you haven't read the title, its Portal 2! My favourite game this year with Going back to aperture, the place of conspiracy, corruption and evil disk operating systems.

The first portal was simply amazing, it drew in every aspect of creativity and brain-bending puzzles, and the second improves on that in everyway. Its as everyone says, insanely hard puzzles until you solve them, and then you feel stupid. This is an amazing rare experience that is rarly seen not just in games, but in anything nowadays, and when in co-op, the experience doubles as you and your partner may try and try again to outsmart each other, only making yourself look even more as an idiot, but thats only part of the fun compared to working together! The single player campagin for me was brilliant, from start to finish, it was interactive, fast but not rushed, had huge verity, puzzles straight forward & others which you could approach many different ways like the original portal (especially in the white gel parts) and i enjoyed every moment of it, especially the most epic climax in a game i have ever experienced (cant spoil it) followed by the most satisfying ending i also have experienced in a games ending, as this really was the 'end', seeing how we dont expect chell to appear again. The co-op following was equally as amazing, everything the single player did right but not only with a friend, but with another interesting story, that although wasnt as 'impacting' was just as engaging and still managed to give not such an end, but an opening, as shown by the follow DLC as well that the co-op story still has yet to end, maybe we'll see one more future DLC campaign, but whatever it is, im sure it will be awesome. If you want a satisfying co-op experience (like I did), then get Portal 2, but be careful, in some cases its like sex, treat your first time wisely as once you've played the game through once it isnt the same the second time (not entirly in a bad way).

Another reason for me to give it GOTY is the incredible soundtrack; including the use of interactive/dynamic music while doing puzzles (especially the use of classical, oh how i love that) and even better the original sounds at the end. Yes, we still got a GLaDOS single, but for me it was the Turret Orchestra that blew me away, so good that i downloaded it to listen to it on my iPod, man, i only wish there was a longer version. Many people seem to complain about its short length, although it is short, i think it was perfect for the type of game, any longer and it would have been repetitive, any shorter and it wouldnt feel like a real game, so to me it hit the sweet spot of what I would call a satisfying single player experience. The co-op depends on how good you are with your friends, although slightly shorter than the single player, i think its good, as i managed to get a whole convinant play though with my friend in one day and experience it all fully at once, rather than in sections every now and then and having to tireringly track down your partner, sort times and make arrangements if the co-op were to be really long and took quite a few plays (starting up the game) to get through it. The replayability for me was the achievements, although many stopped after they 'completed the game', i saw much more replayability in going back and getting all those 'possible for once' achievements, which i had fun doing and saw much more things than i though in the campaign such as the new rat man dens. Even in co-op, they were even more challenging and fun to do, this enabled me to play through it more than once without it feeling all the reptitive and still managed for me to enjoy myself. So its length and replaybility for me was spot on!

People also seem to complain about the source engine, and how the graphics in Portal 2 'aren't the best', to me thats not a problem. I grew up in gaming with the source engine through lovable titles such as CSS, Gmod, TF2, L4D and I still love it to bits, to me it looks awesome and never gets old. The controls and physics are top notch and the graphic standards in portal 2 itself i though was extremely good, there was nothing i saw 'amazing' in the graphics, but there was DEFINITELY nothing i saw bad! If your one of those graphic-whore haters, than maybe Portal 2 wont float your boat, and if it doesnt because of that reason I think your a fcuking retard, but thats just me. Overall, i think Portal 2 wins it for me, Theres so much more i can cover of why this game for me was the best game i played this year, although Serious Sam 3 would take the best FPS action game (until i got optimisation abuse, read more below), the game i had the most fun with and enjoyed was Portal 2, the consistent post-game support as well as free DLC has continued to make it look better and better and i hope future DLC will also be just as exciting!

Now you may be wondering why i would chose Portal 2 over some other titles, so i'll give it to you straight and tell you about my experiences with other'large' titles, starting with skyrim. Skyrim was NOT my GOTY. To me it had a huge amount of content and lots to do, but that was it, graphics werent that amazing and i found them hard to love as well as the poor engine, the quests got quite repetitive after a while and can be said as either 'exploring, killing or collecting' in a nutshell. There was no co-op when i think it was quite possible and the single player campagin missions as well as the gulid missions (although better than oblivion) still werent impressing. Dragons were also disappointing and got repetitively easy after a while. Although the music was one of the best parts of the game to me (I love orchestral scores with huge verity), the biggest issue was the lack of motiovation in skyrim, after a while i honestly did not care what i did, who i did it for and why, i was drawn away from the game and it felt like a chore, i had the big issue of "i have heaps of quests to do but i dont give a fcuk if i do them or not" and that to me ruined this sort of game. Skyrim was not my GOTY, and infact, it wasnt really that much of an enjoyable game to me for what it sold itself for; Portal 2 being a quite satisfying experience with excellence co-op which i managed to enjoy to the fullest while skyrim being a large game with heaps of stuff to do aiming for a huge experience but was too much of the same thing for me and failed to meet my expectations of what i though i would get out of the game. What i did get out, i didnt enjoy that much, but i did enjoy the game to an extend, but not at all good enough for it to be even considered one of my top favourite games, let alone GOTY. Other titles such as Batman AC and Uncharted 3 I HAVE NOT PLAYED either due to the horrible costs ($99) or even worse the bloody exclusiveness of the game. Serious Sam 3 was also very close to my GOTY as i had so much fun in the first hours i played it, but it was the fact that it fun at 20FPS on the lowest settings on everything, especially splitscreen and the poor support that followed afterwards that drove it away from me, unable to get a satisfying experience from it. Dead island wasn't that engaging and even in co-op i didnt feel as though i had as much fun with my friends as i did in Portal 2. Lastly, Battlefield 3 for me was really really good, its just that the maps were poorly designed compared to BF2 and BC2, this put me off and really, the web browser server browser was also very very weird it, and although worked, we did not ask for it and DID NOT WANT IT. Back to maps, I didnt play much until B2K came out AND WHEN IT DID, i noticed i couldn't play properly with my mouse, so although not the games fault, I am waiting for a new mouse before playing this game because i want a complete experience and not some half dumbwit one when i cant aim, but even so, the absolutely worse most possible thing that happened, that battlefield 3 contains the thing i ABSOLUTELY HATED MOST OUT OF ANY OTHER GAME THIS YEAR, and i'll describe how it was an utterly terrible selfish asshole retarded move, idea and rip off in three words; BLOODY FUCKING ORIGIN!!!!!!. But back to being civilized, honestly, this would make a good third behind SS3 and Portal 2 as there is much i can compliment about this game, but also a bit that i can criticize.. (you know who to blame)

So there it is, my GOTY and why, and also as importantly why others werent. Remember this is just my opinion and if you disagree, thats fine, I just hope you had as much fun with Portal 2 as i did, and if you havent got it yet, GET IT, it when down to $7.5 in the steam sales, and im sure with all the valve coupons you got you could easily buy it soon, even without theses its only $30 and im sure you could easily afford that compared to other horribly priced games (AC, MW3, BAC, im LOOKING AT YOU). Portal 2 was a great game this year, infact this year was a great year, and i hope next year will be as well, especially with two upcoming titles that have caught my attention; Fortnite for having a chance at being a game ive wanted for a long time, and Borderlands 2 for possibly improving everything i loved about the first Borderlands (and thats a heck of a lot). In case you weren't aware, I love anime and manga, Im a big fan, and although i havent posted much here (due to the idoitic haterd cleft has for it), I still am a huge fan, posting and talking about it on other sites such as reddit and youtube. My lack of posts has been due to personal problems and a lack of time due to said problems, I am going away camping this Friday ( Friday the 23 ) for 2-3 weeks so will be unable to post,

In gaming related stuff I have been playing dawn of war and half life 2 ep 1 mostly. According to my steam stats I have played about 80 hours of dawn of war 2 retribution last stand. Some of this I have to confess is because of me leaving my game running over night. But I have played most of that time and enjoyed it a lot.

I have got my hive tyrant up to lvl 19 and am waiting for the evolution command item so my minions will be a hell of a lot more kick ass and the High toxicity venom gun actually is useful(or will it never be useful ?). I have just got my mekboy the Uge Bomb wargear and Really Really like it. It’s a explosive device that the mekboy sets up on the ground, this takes the same time to cap a point. Once its set up it can be set off by clicking on it for a Huge explosion and massive damage (explosions are one of the reasons I LOVE mekboy)

Fortnite: Pretty Hyped up for an unexpected Game

Every since i heard that minecraft had surivival when 'mobs' come out and attack you at night, i was in love, but after they patched it so mobs dont actually 'come after you' at night and just wait around until you are close enough to attack, my heart sank. Ive always had dreams about a 'zombier' acoploiytic FPSMMO that combines the best elements of left 4 dead, killing floor, gmod zombie survival and source-forts/Minecraft and a whole lot of other games i throughoutly enjoyed. This 'dream' game revolves around you co-op surviving with friends at night in a fort hand crafted by yourself from salvaged resources such as planks, cars, metal, fences, shopping carts and anything else lying around along with barricades to keep the zombies back (for the mean time) with ammo to hold them off, playing on an enormous map with 150 other online players scattered all over the world so big that you barley see anyone and when u do, you team up and help each other survive, and to a point when you can zoom through this whole recent zombie apco world in a resalvaged car because the maps SO FRICKEN BIG. Although i doubt that dream will come to light any soon, mineceraft did for the meanwhile with the whole 'bulid a fort and survive the night' kinda thing but it didn't rock my boat......... ......But then this came

This game might be what i wanted from Minecraft and didnt get... Actual Aggressive mobs, mobs that only exist to attack you rather then walking around. Along with the implied exploration of an apocalyptic world, a possible FPS from the use of guns, an awesome tf2 art style, the ability/making a fort from salvaged materials and co-op with friends, this game might be exactly what im looking for, and now Im very hyped up about it. Overall, it looks like it could float my 'zombie' co-op fort-making survival boat, and for a very long time indeed. As much as i hope its an FPS, or even comes out on PCs, i hope its a good game that i will greatly enjoy!

I saw this popular review for Modern Warefare 3, this one is not a complete hater, hes logical, reasonable and honest, and lets face it, hes true..

His Name is gMcizzLe and he gave MW3 a 5/10 (See, not some 0/10 fanboy review, its REASONABLE) now, read WHY!

I pre-ordered both BF3 and MW3, trying not to be a fanboy to either in this comparison. BF3 isn't perfect but MW3 is a complete joke, especially on PC. If you are even thinking about MW3 on PC, forget it, just buy MW1 or Black Ops and have at least a 10x better experience. No ranked dedicated servers? Check. No adjustable FOV? Check. No real innovation from MW2? Check. I'm not really one to care about graphics, but MW3's graphics are just laughable considering this is 2011. Comparing MW3 graphics to BF3 graphics is like comparing speed between a 1990 Neon and a 2012 Bugatti Veyron. BF3 gets huge props for their innovation in this department. Audio is even worse than graphics. As another poster pointed out, the guns literally sound like paintball or BB gun. Again, a joke when compared with BF3 which makes huge innovations here again. MW3 does have a much better campaign than BF3 though, and BF3's SP was disappointing considering what they could have done with all the new tech. Not sure how long MW3's campaign is though as I haven't finished it yet. Post-launch support from DICE has already been fantastic, and they do truly listen to the community on changes. I remember in BFBC2 Beta, I had an issue specific to my PC relating to low CPU usage, and I got an email from a dev who personally worked with me to resolve it. This fix was including with the final game. I don't have a lot of experience with Activision, but from what I've heard the only post-launch support they give is in paid DLC's. Overall, BF3 is definitely worth $60 where MW3 is definitely not worth $60.

I assume a lot of you wonder why i post so much on MW3, well, its not only the most POPULAR FPS if not game of the decade (sadly) and also the most controversial, but yes, your right, the release is over and more or less i'll begin to reduce these pointless debating posts and post something more productive in future ok ;) , but my opinion is still my opinion, and i don't think MW3 deserves any respect in the least.

although (sadly) it is poorly optimized so i get 30fps online/splitscreen even on lowest settings =_= (but nothing patches/drivers cant fix soon... i hope)

but seriously, this is the most surprising and amazing game ive played this year, looking for an awesome cheap old-school shoot em up with friends?, you cant pass this...

And it's a point well made, zeroes speak far louder than mere 6's or 7's, and that is what the user score is all about. The system of 0 for bad 10 for good is not, I repeat NOT a bad system for user scores; Can you honestly expect people to carefully and rationally take both the pros and cons of the game into account and devise a perfect numerical representation for its perceived "value", for them personally? No, of course you can't. But you can have a system where people say "Nope, I didn't like it. Zero." or "Yes, I loved it, 10".

Exam/BF3 Update

hello there everyone

I have not been able to get on often, ive spent my time either playing battlefield 3, studying for exams or doing the exam itself.

Hows battlefield 3? no duh ITS AMAZING, probably the best FPS ive played to date
Although there were many features that did not arive from battlefield 2 that left me somewhat disappoint it, such as the somewhat small sense of scale for maps, sure its a checkpoint with a border, but battlefield 2 had nuclear plants, mountains, docks, aircraft carries ALL in one map, rather battlefield 3 which seems to just feature either a factory or a street block per map ;|

Either way, i dont feel like playing it too much because of these exams, and because its not on steam. When it comes out on steam, OHHHHHHHHHHH i'll be playing heaps. But for now, and until back to karkand comes as like i said, battlefield 2 maps were DA BOMB, so i'll be playing those later on. For now, its exam study, a bit of battlefield and maybe some skyrim. Yes, i got that, im gonna play it, but exams are priority.

The issue with reviews....and uncharted 3

Sometimes games are bad and get horrible reviews, other times they are good, and get good reviews. But no matter how good, there is no such thing as a perfect game.

Yes, im talking about Uncharted 3, its so far been reciving high criticsm with perfect scores everywhere, notoriously IGN's with 10 for everything. Really? completely perfect... or just stupid! Reviews are too emotionally bias, people give good reviews if they like the game, not if it IS a good game. We can clearly see that ign loves uncharted 2 due to its also very high score, so what were the chances of THEM giving uncharted 3 a high score.. .well... obviously HIGH! This just pisses me off, what happen to the good reviews that were about the game and not how people enjoyed the game, if i love a Ford Bentley 1940 and hate a Ferrari Enzo, does that mean the Ferrari is worse than the Ford Bentley, even worse is if i was to rate the Ford high and the Ferrari low on a scale that MEASURES how good it is.

The Possibility for Battlefield 3 on steam is high!

After reading this post, i was excited, i had a feeling that ea and valve had finally gotten together and worked things out

But...this isn't all what they meant it to be

EA have always been trying to promote origin as much as they can using battlefield 3, its plentiful pre-order bonuses and the fact that origin is needed for retail copies, at the same time indirectly 'attacking' steam by removing certain titles like crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 (and ultimately battlefield 3). Its obvious that ea are so fixed onto reaping the profits with origin and battlefield 3 that all this time they've even 'confirmed' that battlefield 3 will not come out on steam, meaning that many players will end up resulting to origin to buy it resulting in ea getting more direct profit, much more than had they confirmed a steam release.

So when a post about how ea and valve are getting along to getting bf3 on steam is leaked? what do they do? they say "dont get your hopes up", considering how they want to reap all the profits on origin, wouldn't it make sense that they get rid of any idea of bf3 going on steam at all to prevent people avoiding origin?, also considering they had previously denied a steam release? I though they would have said "no, as previously confirmed, battlefield 3 will not make an appearance on steam".. instead they just saying "we don't have anything new to announce on this". OF COURSE they have nothing to announced on this, if they announced bf3 on steam, millions of players would flock from origin, cancel their origin pre-order and head back home to steam, ultimately leaving EA with a lot less profit. If they bluntly denied it (saying 'NO" instead of "don't get your hopes up"), and still released it, they would lose all their credibility, i mean even activison wouldnt lie like that (from what i know).

The fact that they didnt deny it and gave us an answer inbetween yes and no implies that their's still hope, but not just a little, I believe ea will release it on steam (at least) weeks after origin's release, getting the best of both worlds who prefer steam over origin, especially from those rebuying back to karkand on steam. Basically steam would providing them with heaps of profit anyway, so not releasing it on steam at all is economically stupid. With this, i have my prediciton that Battlefield 3 on steam is likey, i believe it will happen at some point, the sooner the better. (SUCK IT UP ALREADY EA)

Battlefield 3 vs Bad Company 2; Why Battlefield 3 will be 100x Better

Many speculations of battlefield 3 have come about due to bad company 2’s performance, many re judging that battlefield 3 will be much like bad company 2, and those not too fond of bad company 2 are sure to miss out on the great experience. This opinions are deluded, they have no realised that not only is battlefield 3 much much different to bad company 2, but will be a lot better, in both sales, success and gameplay.

Pre-orders
Bad company 2 managed with 70,000 preorders, this calculated from EA’s statement that when battlefield 3 reached 700,000 pre-orders; "Battlefield 3 pre-orders had surpassed 700,000 preorder units, a number which was 10 times that of the previous Battlefield game, Bad Company 2"
But battlefield 3 on the other hand at the current stage has reached a staggering 1,500,000 pre-orders, tremendously more than bad company 2; "new numbers from EA: Battlefield 3 pre-orders have now reached 1.5 million units". Showing that many people, battlefield fans or not, are hugly confident in this game, much MUCH more than bad company 2

Sales
Although terrible Day 1 performances (as stated later on), bad company 2 was able to reach current Sales of 9,000,000 in total; "As of June 30, 2011 over 9 million copies of the game have been sold across all platforms" and has been regarded as widely successful as stated by dice; “It did far better than we hoped for”
As battlefield 3 hasn’t been released, there are no guaranties of sales (yet), but In accordance with Bad company 2 sales and preorder statistics, we can predict with mathematical calculation that were would be a tremendous total sales of 192,857,142, although plainly over expected due to previous buyers of bad company 2 may have pre-ordered battlefield 3 and bad company 2 statistics may be unique and much MUCH different to battlefield 3

Beta Players
Bad company 2 also had a beta, and from statements from ea, we can assume it reached around 2,000,000 beta players, as "12,000,000 people have joined the Battlefield 3 beta, six times the numbers DICE had testing Battlefield: Bad Company 2"
Just as stated above, battlefield 3 showed an astonishing 12,000,000 beta players in their open beta, making it one of the most played game beta in history. This shows that there were many other people who were more interested in testing bf3 than bc2, although not as confident as pre-ordering, many people were confident to try out the game for themselves and help improve it for release, as the game looks much MUCH different to bad company 2

Beta Performance
Ignoring Dice’s response to why betas should be bad in order to improve the final game, people still though that the bad company 2 beta was horrible; "It was the worst game ever". – BF Community
There were much similar responses with the battlefield 3 beta, as people keep on ignoring dice’s reason to why a beta should be bad, just like bad company 2; "And it’s like, “Well, it’s a broken entertainment product, because we want your feedback.” And they say, “Well, I understand that, but it’s not polished enough!” And we say, “Well, that’s exactly what we’re talking about" - DICE. Although they were still surprised that so many people joined when it was (and supposed to be) just as buggy as bad company 2; "I think six times the amount of people playing the beta as we had in Bad Company and it’s the same problems." – DICE
It can also be noted that many people were disappointed with the Bad company 2 beta gameplay calling it “the worst game ever”, but with the battlefield 3 beta, many people confessed that it was incrediably amazing than any other fps they’ve ever seen, that going back to the current Patched and “best FPS in the market now” (bad company 2) was “shit”

Release Review
Heading from beta to day 1, DICE admitted that bad company 2 day one was horrible, they weren’t as experienced in betas and many things weren’t wrong; "But it wasn’t great on day one. People hated it on day one. It was a complete disaster, according to the forums, it was the crappiest game ever" - DICE. But despite this, bad company 2 still managed to sell well and after much patching, is said to be best FPS on the market (and still is, by certain players); "And then we patched it and fixed some issues. And now it’s like some people think it was perfect from day one. It was the best game ever" - DICE
Battlefield 3 once again has not been released, so there is yet to be any release reviews (yet), but as stated by DICE, they are going to make battlefield 3 release much better than bad company 2, due to their experience from bad company 2’s release, they promise it to be much MUCH better than bad company 2, even if it needs a few patches; "Why can’t Battlefield 3 be perfect from day one. But I mean [Battlefield 3 ] is much better today day one than Bad Company 2 was day one" - DICE, "but is will not be perfect as day 1 patches are still involved" - DICE

Overall
Bad company 2 did really well overall, dice were impressed and there were many sales and pre-orders, from these we can expect that Battlefield 3 will do tremendously better, as already seen by the pre-order statistics which can aid in predicting it’s HUGE sales. The beta was also was much more popular, even if the beta is said to be like bc2 to fix bugs, beta’s are supposed to be bad and there’s nothing to complain about their. From previous experience, DICE has said that battlefield 3 will have mega improvement on day 1 support and will be the focus of the company for years to come, unlike bad company 2.

So ultimately, Battlefield is in all ways much better than bad company 2, so if you (still) hate bad company 2 and hooked on repetitive reproduced crap, battlefield 3 might show you the light, and if you loved bad company 2, well… won’t you know about it!

The source of the debate of Battlefield 3 vs Modern Warfare 3 like most debates, is about which is better, and in turn relates to which is more shit. Battlefield has always been about open realistic military operations whereas call of duty is about arcady style jumping around run and gun fun, so does this make them different, NO! They are both in the same genre, they both provide similar experiences, they are both military fps in the modern age, they have little differences here and there, but they are more similar than pretty much any other game series, so it is automatically bound by competition, to see which game is better, and which one is worth buying.

Looking at Battlefield 3 vs MW3, we can obviously see the victor, why, graphics, gameplay, features, rewarding experience, engine, technology, etc, all the evidence is there. Remember opinions don't matter in debates like these, in court opinions are regarded as "hearsay" and are rejected by the rules of evidence, saying one is better or worse out of complete opinion doesn't prove anything will get you no where, you need evidence, and Battlefield 3's got it. So what does this lead to, well of course, Battlefield 3 is the better game, but why do people call modern warfare 3 and the rest of the Call of Duty's shit, lets see?

Similar games genres are always competitive, one has to surpass the other to be successful,in Battlefield v Call of Duty, we can see that Call of Duty has always been the more popular one, this has lead a huge variety of FPS (first person shooter) fans to play it, even Battlefield fans like myself. But what happens when a better game comes out, an extremely similar game that is better in pretty much every way, and when you play it, you release how shit Call of Duty really is, why?, its because the other game has simply surpassed it. Battlefield has surpassed call of duty, we've got evidence to prove it, although they are both fun, it makes complete sense to play the better game, and when one game is better than the other, out of comparison, we can see that Call of Duty is shit.

Call of Duty is still 'ok' in its own right, Battlefield doesn't make Call of Duty any worse, but what Battlefield has done is raise the industry standards, the standards of polished quality first person shooters, Battlefield's innovation has paid off with a (almost) new generation of the military FPS genre, one which is better than the old one in pretty much every way (because of the evidence), so if we look at it, Battlefield successfully risen FPS standards to a whole new level, this level now becomes the norm as competition and innovation in the industry rise to embrace the future, thanks to Battlefield, we'll be seeing even better FPS's trying to do what Battlefield has done and aim for the top.

But what about Call of Duty? its been fallen behind in the standards, after playing the new high quality FPS and then going back to Call of Duty, we see how shit it really is, because Battlefield has surpassed Call of Duty, our interests, ideals, and values of the FPS have all risen beyond the point of Call of Duty, and we can only see how crap the game really is because of how better the others are. One game alone cannot destroy another, but a major innovation of the industry can.

Ive played Battlefield and Call of Duty, and i can say that Battlefield is better, (this my opinion), i tried to play Call of Duty for a little while, and i though it was, plainly and basically, shit, why?, simply because of how better Battlefield is (evidence). This is a popular opinion with many other FPS fans, and its this wave of opinions caused from Battlefield innovation and success that will (slowly but surly) destroy Call of Duty, unless it finally drops its "if it ant broke, don't fix it" motto and trys to innovate and embrace the future battlefield has provided for the FPS military genre, which we all know wont happen anytime soon, even if it does, it will never overtake Battlefield in the race for the best.

Playing Call of Duty after Battlefield is like playing an old rusty piano after a grand piano, yes, the old rusty piano was good while it lasted, but after playing the grand, we can seem just like call of duty, how shit it really is.

I think gamers are all together a pretty good bunch of peeps. But when we get down to which game is best things start getting nasty :( what i want to know is: why do people get so angry at others for not liking their chosen game?

battlefield 3 is coming out in the near future and has started the debate about which is better. when blops came out every one was raging about how they thought MW2 was better. I like cod. It was a fun game and i enjoyed it. i wouldn't say its the best game i have ever played before, i don't know what that one is, but i definatly had fun playing it and in the end that's why we play games. people keep going on about how shit blops is, maybe its just i never played much mw2 ( i never owned it ) but i had fun with it, the complaining: "aw its soo shit, look at the graphics", well i have and while they aren't crash hot they also aren't horrible and in the end your not playing the game just for the graphics, your playing it for the experience and story the game has to offer.

same with battlefield 3. yes it looks amazing, yes i am sure it will be a good game, but just because i think this doesn't mean i can go and say other games are shit because most games will seem shit in comparison to the next new game because it will be better, have newer technology and more. Its the whole reason you buy the next game. you wouldn't ( or most wouldn't) say battlefield bad company 2 was a bad game, yes it had some problems but it was a fairly good game, but just because it is better then bad company 1 doesn't mean bad company 1 is shit.

some thing you also have to think about is for blops or mw3 to be as "good" as BF 3... wouldn't they have to basically become the same thing? it would just become the same game with a slightly different story.

I play games for the experience not necessarily the realism, come on , dead space 2 but realistic. now that's some thing I got to see, any how i just hope people finally stop hating on each other for the games they play.
we all have different things we enjoy and if we all understand that and stop trying to change others we will all have a better time.

Wooooo, right on 12 midnight on Wednesday Oct the 5th, Valve have released Their First DLC for Portal 2 NOW, ITS OUT.........., AND IM IN AUSTRALIA!

I'm downloading it now, and gonna play through the entire thing tomorrow and tell ya about it

Also i got a new graphics card, and its AMAZING! My Radeon HD 6950 can run pretty much everything on max (pretty much being bf3), im so happy right now, i can finally play dead island, bf3 on high (not ultra). Look forward to some awesome new videos.........once i finish my exams... sigh D:

The BF3 beta opened how long ago? I pre-order battlefield 3 how long ago?
but do i have the early access beta key... NO. Why ea, i know you said that you were sorting everyone out, but its been [EDIT] THE WHOLE 48 HOURS hours since you said that those who pre-ordered would receive it, and i NEVER did.
Not only this, but it appears that my pre-order may have been rejected on origin... for NO REASON.

Out school is rolling out laptops to help us with our school work. Some people use them for work and others just play games. I am one of the few who don’t play games on mine. I am trying to get some of my friends who do to record it so it can be of some use to me. There are many games going around ranging from plants V zombies to pokemon to battle field 2 And dawn of war. So if I can convince them to record it there should be a wide range of content. Unfortunately because we are in class we can't do commentaries but something is better than nothing.
Also the space marines stuff is still coming my friend has been so caught up he hasn’t had time to write it for me.

Dead Frontier

I stumbled across this in browser zombie MMO RPG i think via a face book add, and am pleasantly surprised( considering face book adds are shit!)
You start off by selecting your characters looks, gender and profession, each profession has advantages and disadvantages. The athlete has greater stamina so can run for longer, the soldier has higher weapons skills and starts with a SMG, the fireman have a high immunity to fire and starts with a axe. stuff like that. I chose a police man which gave me higher shot gun skills and pistol training and meant i started with a shotgun.
Once you finish your character creation you start in the outpost. Which is a screen from were you can deposit money, get new equipment and other such things. You can also head out into the city were the real fun starts.
When you head out into the city the game play is similar to some thing like dead nation or alien swarm. A basic top down shooter.

In game if you want to open your map( you also have a mini map in the corner of your screen) or inventory rather then just making you invaulrable or letting the zombies kill you as you stand there you have 10 seconds between you pressing the open button and it actually opening so you can’t just use it if your being mobbed by zombies. Once its open tho your character is set to AFK and is invaulrable while the menu is open.
There are many different types of zombies in the game ( most I haven’t met yet ) but the one I had trouble with was a flaming zombie. As I am a very low level at the moment( and maybe because I only played it yesterday) I don’t yet have the money to buy any guns that can take it down. Basically it is a fast zombie that is on fire, supposedly for some reason the fire causes the virus to repair damaged cells ( according 2 the wikia) so with my limited ammo and crappy guns I generally try to avoid places with it.

Portal 2 DLC on the way!

Steam/Portal 2 has updated to show us some excellent news, New support for upcoming updates in September... meaning that most likely there will be DLC and really soon!

As they went as far as making a whole update for supporting the DLC, could we see something completely new? I was expecting more map packs for co-op and advanced for single, but maybe its gonna be something completely new, who knows, i think i will love it anyway :)

Ain't That a Kick in the Head

Due to reasons i cannot mention, my steam has been reset, my whole computer was almost, but i managed to minimize the damage to steam

This means I've just lost all 200GB of my games

But i have all 400GB backed up on my external harddrive (phew)

So as sadly as it seems, i wont be playing any game any time soon, i have to reinstall all my games from my harddrive, (better than downloading them again i guess), but i am still extremely pissed....

Well, I'll let you know when I've at least got my favorites reinstalled, but apart from that, all my games are... gone...

i recently got back into dead space 2 and almost jumped for joy when i found my self standing once again on the old deck where you first enter the USG Ishimura.

as i walked through the familiar once blood soaked halls which were now clean and covered with patching plastic i found it really chilling even though nothing has jumped out at me yet i am still quite nervous just remembering the events that occurred there all those many years ago.

BF3 I bought from D2d so origin can suck it, I still have to use origin but they didn't get as much of the pie as they could have if i bought from origin. Right now the only respectable digital services, are direct2drive, greenmangaming, steam and GOG. All the others can suck it. Don't think we are like console gamers that we buy into anything. You can shove off and get out of market cause steam and few good digital services is all we need. Services like impulse and origin are now just getting in the way. Who are they to come into this market and act like the big guys when they are newcomers hoping to get the extra cash and nothing else?"

These guys are legends! PC gaming is not dead, steam is the best thing to happen to pc gaming, so yes, retail, eat sh!t and die!

Just so you people know, ever since I got my new computer I had the Alienguise alienware theme on my computer. Its cool but it got a little old. I was looking for some thing game related and found some awesome stuff.

Quakecom has started, and its all good, personally because i live on the other side of the world i can experience it for myself D:
But, as always, steam is there to cheer me up and this time, with the QUAKE COM SALE!

To make a long story short, i bought it and saved a woopin $500! I also got a few games i was hoping to get soon such as limbo, from dust and dead island (if i get any time to ever play these that is)!

For now, the sales are awesome! This is probably the best pack since the valve pack, so if you've got $70 to spend, nows the time!

On a sadder note, i have decided to put my goal aside of buying a new huge better gaming computer, this is because of my decision that my biggest school year is just around the corner, meaning i will be studying so hard it will kill me! A gaming computer would be a big distraction, even so, if i did study like im going to, i would have barley any time to use it. So i have decided to (still save a lot of money), but use it on the wonderful games that i keep buying because i can play these games on my current (oh-kay) computer, and they are better than getting another computer that could just run them slightly better.

Looks like i will have to play battlefield 3 on low..... if its on steam that is -_-

How often is it when you are walking past one of those bargain bin’s at shops like JB Hi-Fi or Harvey Norman, stop and have a look and go Wow, a game I actually want at a reasonable price and go and buy it. Most of the time it is : wow, I didn’t know they made games this gay, who in their right mind would buy these games. Being a cheap ass I rarely buy games as soon as they come out, and love the idea of relatively new games at low prices but are generally depressed at the selection of games to choose from which is why I can tell you it is a great feeling to actually find something you want in one of them. Just last week a friend and I were talking about penumbra and he told me he had found the Penumbra collection ( all 3 games in one pack) at Harvey Norman for $5. So the very next day I went a searching for a copy. To make a moderate length story a lot shorter lets just say after asking the checkout chick if they had it and being told they didn’t, getting a guy to help me search through the bottomless pit which is called the bargain bin through hordes of Microsoft Catzz and My stables adventure: a horses story and other similarly depressing and degrading games I found it. Blah blah blah, blablablalalal, Blahh Blah Bla….. (ect)

And that’s how I became the proud owner of one Penumbra collection for the cost of only $5

Basically this means you may see some Penumbra lets plays coming up :)
Also expect to see some split screen l4d2 duel commentary’s as Joyduck 7 has brought a Xbox controller for the Pc and we have been having some games.

Im not joking, but out of the current two week holidays, ive only had 3 'free' days, note that 'free' means spending all my time on fallout new Vegas, which I had mixed emotions about first, but now im really into it :)

Two things i want to make clear

1) This is Life Gaming and Nerdy stuff, so we will also post about other life cool awesome stuff that we like posting about, just like that review on harry potter, the movie was awesome! so why not post a review on it!

2) If you have any fallout, and after playing it for about 6 hours and then u put it down, please, PICK IT BACK UP! I didn't believe all the people saying that its around 20 hours that you get into it, but its true!!!! Play a bit more, and Im certain you'll start to play it and love it more, its one of the best FPS RPG's i've played, although Borderlands is still my fav, if you are a fan of open world RPG's (hint hint oblivion), you'll love fallout!

related content. what has the world come to? I have a guest author for you, she is a good friend of mine. with out further ado I give you nsharp8's review on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2

Unfortunately, I never really shared in the obsessive Harry Potter mania, which has affected many of my generation. Which is why I waited with some trepidation with the crowds of garishly dressed fans for the Midnight screening of the final movie. I came out quite literally blown away. The movie more than met my expectations and has inspired me to go back, reread and try and 'catch up' on some of the mystery and magic which I have missed.

But back to the movie... (and beware, this is NOT a spoiler free review!) Deathly Hallows Part 2 traces Harry, Ron and Hermione as they rush to discover all the Horcruxes (for those uninitiated few--pieces of Voldemort's soul) which are the key to defeating 'You Know Who' once and for all. Splitting the final book into two parts was definitely a good decision. It let director David Yates do justice to the complex narrative whilst adding some appropriate cinematic 'pezazz'. The scenes in which Harry, Hermione and Ron rob Gringot's bank melds fast paced action/adventure with cool CGI. The film's climax , the battle for Hogwarts between death eater's and the order of the phoenix combined appropriately epic battle scenes with pathos and humour.

The three leads are all appropriately strong. Backed by powerful performance from British Acting Stalwarts such as Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon and Ralph Fienes. Radcliffe in particular outdoes himself. The key scene in which Harry finally understands that he is Voldemort's final Horcrux, and the sacrifice which he must make, was moving and sincere. Radcliffe's development as an actor, has mirrored his characters growth. In this final film he truly comes into his own.

But far and above every other actor, Alan Rickman as new headmaster Severus Snape stands out, as the heart and soul of the film. In this final movie, Rickman does justice to Rowling's complex, ambiguous character and proves that his recent win in the popular "Harry Potter World Cup" is fully justified. Rickman's Snape is redeemed as a tortured antihero, driven by unrequited love. His death scene, and his memories later viewed by Potter provide one of the most moving moments of the film.

If there is any weakness in the film, it is that those unfamiliar with the Potter Mythology, previous potter films, or the novels will have very little chance of understanding what is going on. Certainly knowing the story in advance is a bonus, I have to admit, even I spent about an hour afterwards, refreshing my memory of the story's context with the help of a friend, far more educated in the Harry Potter novel's then myself. Other's have complained that certain moments occasionally appear drawn out. Some scenes could have been slightly shortened, but the film stays remarkably true to Rowling's novel.Criticism of the film's occasional moments of reflection are unfounded, this reviewer really appreciated these odd pauses for contemplation or respite, which contrast sharply with the rest of the film's frenetic energy.

Ultimately Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 is a fitting conclusion to an epic series which has defined a generation, and captured the hearts and minds of kids from across the globe. With Harry Potter now done and dusted it leads me to wonder what new phenomena will take its place?... Unfortunately I don't like the response--It seems that the heirs of Harry, Ron and Hermione are none other than Bella, Edward and Jacob of the Twilight novels. How far we have fallen....!

Im sure many of you guys has taken part of, or at least heard of the new free-2-play craz on steam. Dont worry if you haven't, its not a bad thing, theres nothing to lose, and best of all, everything is FREE! Steam/Valve have recently released a set number of F2P (free to play) games for anyone with a (free) steam account can download and play! Everyone knows tf2 is free, so while your taking a break from that, why not try out a little fun MMORPG game called Spirl Knights

Ive recently just started playing this, but the thing is, im not addicted! Its a great game and all, i really do enjoy it, but because of its free-2-play status, you pretty much have to buy stuff to progress aggressively, I on the other hand, have just been able to get by without spening a cent, and im already up to a full set of tier 2 weapons! This game so far is amazing fun, i was looking for a great co-op game/mmo and this fills the spot. Im glad im not as addicted as i though i would be, otherwise i would have spent more than $1000 or something lol!

Anyway, this is the great free game, im not writing a review here, look at the other sites for that, but im just recommending it, its free, theres nothing to lose, you also get a cool knight hat for your new free version of tf2 if you do a certain achievement! Believe me, its worth playing a few hours of it, and because energy can still recharge, i only really go on for 10-30 minutes a day, using the energy charged from the night before, and its still fun. Dont overlook or look down on this game because its free and you have to pay to advance faster! Take it slow and steady, enjoy the rid, and believe me, you'll have even more fun without spending a cent.

Team Fortress 2 is now FREE TO PLAY! Yes, Now i though i'd be mad, angry, furious, but.... im not... and i know why! free to play... is GOOD! Yes it is, and for all you guys raging thinking its horrible, i'll explain way its not. I also know you guys don't like reading essays, so i'll sum up all the main points of why free-to-play is good!

More People, Yes, i know for one that there are so many empty servers that i love, now there is more hope for more games with more people!
More Community, Just what tf2 needed, a bigger community, (i mean it, no sarcasm) i am glad that tf2 will be available to a bigger audience so those people that cant be stuffed to buy it will now see how great it really is
Benefits for Veterans, People who paided before still get the benefit, i know its just a hat, but knowing how tf2 is now famous for hats, i think its still quite meaningful.
Still a Good Game, The advantage TF2 now has over other free-to-play games is that other FTP games are made to be FTP, so they arent made with as much effort as a paid game. E.g. Battlefield Free2Play, great series, but 3 maps... come on... So we can still expect quality from this game as the developers will not slack off, i mean, how can they, and game is already out and all we want are awesome updates and that what we're getting!

In my opinion, this free-to-play has a heck of a lot more positives than negatives, but seriously, i dont see any negatives. If your complaining you lost $20... ffs get a job! But still, if you haven't got it. Go get steam, make an account, download tf2, and start playing!!! its that simple.... Now go, stop reading this and GO PLAY TEAM FORTRESS 2! :D

Kinect V Move

Kinect V Move
Unfortunately the motion control fad hasn't gone away L but with more and more games integrating it into them as well as some generally good games that are motion control only so I'm here to see if there may be a future for them.
Move. The less popular of the two is a little like a the Wii. One of the main differences between the Move and the Wii is that the Move has software to predict the movements if it loses connection to the controller. This eradicates those moments where your Wii control looses connection to the sensor just as your hitting a match wining smash in a game of tennis( why you would I don't know but there are some weird people out there). Other things the Move has going for it is its looks. Yes using it has been likened to waggling a glowing multicoloured dildo around but isn't that better then waggling a white brick around?
The Move is also being used just like the Wii with the motion controls being used in similar dancing, fitness and party games. For that alone it isn't worth buying. You might as well buy a will for half the price and put up with the shit graphics.
For the games that implement it a alternative to the controller it either uses waggle like heavy rain or uses it in a gun shaped holder such like in Killzone 3 or Socom. They both seem to work very similarly to the Wii.
I have to say the games that are coming out exclusively for the motion controllers the kinect has the advantage for me. The control is having more games created for it that appeal to me, i.e. Child of Eden. But the downside to it is the implementation into normal games. Because it doesn't have any form of control implementing it into normal games is difficult. This is where the Move excels. It is a lot easier to implement into games in ways just like the Wii. In James bond golden eye you can either use the classic controller or the motion controls and aim like a gun. This can and is one way the Move is being used.
They both have many different advantages and disadvantage. Personally I see the Move to be something that is more for me because it is able to be implemented in games other then party games.
I will try to give some sales figures soon but it is difficult as I can't find recent ones, but when I do I will show you where to find them.

Yes, Finally!!!!!!!! i have finished my huge amount of study, exams are over and I’m very confident i did well :) now it’s time to relax and play some games, make some more videos and all that!

I'll need to get round to adding some more videos, don’t worry, they will come eventually! But more onto some news! Although our site is more centred around the best gaming platform of all time and which still is... the PC! But we'll also post some interesting news, especially E3, which i have been missing out on recently, so I’ll sum up some important points

Moar Battlefield 3 Awesomeness, YES, will be probably the best game this year, in my opinion, as all the Battlefields Ive played are the best War FPS out of all the many ones i have, yes, Battlefield is better than CoD.. wake up :)
New Nintendo Console, well, so far its smaller, but still impressive, the Wii U. It actually looks good, a nicer way to enjoy the Wii, except this is the same feeling i had for the DS an Wii originally until they got repetitive and boring (to me..), so lets see how Nintendo keeps its hardcore fan base this time rather than its (as PC gamer rightfully said) Nint-infants/oldies...
Bioshock Infinite is looking even better despite destroying my anticipation of going back to rapture and my favorite villains, the big daddies, although i might end up buying BI for its story and character development, Subject Delta will always have a special place in my hall of fame!
Elder Scrolls 5, Skyrim, has now lost half of its credibility! That’s right, it has been announced to be made for consoles, and then ported to pc, Smart choice Bethesdasoft , way to go ruin the game for the loyal PC community. Now we'll have to deal with dumbed down textures and graphics whereas if it was made for the PC, it would be so much better... sigh... another one bites the dust..
Dead Island looks even better with a more story perspective now, especially how its all in First person view... realistic... just the way i like it. But with all these scenes and awesome looking events, it looks like something from half life 2 (scripted cut scenes and events), but i mean is the half life story was amazing single player, and although synergy is an awesome co-op half life 2 mod, it never told the hl2 story as well as single player as its made for single. So looking at dead island and how it seems to take an important story perspective gameplay, how will they ever do this co-op. I only saw one person in the falling lift scene (seen in the trailer), how will they achieve this as a successful co-op game, i look forward to it :)

Well, there’s Joyduck7's spin on E3 for the time been (lol, Bias or not, its still pretty much what’s going on), I’ll try keep up to date on other important announcements soon, (probably Bf3 lol) but still, I’m Back, its official, so get excited!

Nintendo's new "hardcore" console

Finally what we have all may or may not have been waiting for. Nintendo have finally announce that they are making a new HD consolee (yay). Yes the Wii was fun but if i want to go play a game i generally want to go shoot someone in the face, and want the satisfaction of doing it in HD with the accuracy of a mouse and keyboard or ps3 control. I don't want to waggle a inaccurate motion control around and shoot someone with crap visuals. There have been two problems with the Wii. One was the control system and the other is the lack of good third party games. The waggle control system isn't accurate enough to be used for much else other then family games, yes there are some good ones but if you don't want to play a Nintendo classic such as Mario or super smash bros or a kiddie game(yes sometimes they can be fun) you don't have much of a chose.

Nintendo have said that their new consolee will be directed towards the "Hardcore gamer". The people who don't spend most of their time playing games that are suitable for their children to see. It will be HD, which is a great change to the Wii, one of the reasons there were very few "good" Wii games that appeal to the older audience. Yes graphics isn't the most important thing in a game, but it is important. If you spend too much time focusing on the graphics you get a game like Crysis which looked amazing but sucked ass.

In short what I think they are trying to say is it trying to appeal to xbox, pc and ps3 users. The control hasn't been confirmed. It really depends who you look at, CVG reported that it may include a built in HD screen, other sources say it will be like a standard control with a D pad , two sticks and two triggers. Whatever they do it will be awesome.

But what we really care about is the games. What I really hope is that Nintendo will create some new IP's. Yes we all love Mario, Zelda but I want something new. They all have many games in their series and but do you really want another, wouldn't you rather something new, with new characters, game play and mechanics. Honestly while they are fun I want some new content from Nintendo. They are capable of making some awesome new launch titles.

Whatever Nintendo's new console will be we will find out to some extent at E3(E3's almost here :D) and it will be awesome. They will make a awesome new console that will hopefully be able to finally compete with Sony and Microsoft, hopefully when you buy a game it will be on all platforms not just pc, xbox and ps3. Whatever it is it will be awesome and you will buy it, so start saving now.

My next bit of news hasn't yet been decided but whatever it is will be coming soon . Sorry if this is a little Incoherent I am doing this in a rush.

On another note, does anything think i should make more screenshot posts? for those who cant really view videos. It would be a heck of a lot easier for me sometimes to just write about (for example) an awesome l4d2 experience and provide a few screen shots rather than having to go and film it, either way, as long as you guys are happy, so am i ;)

Hello there, i have also started a new series, just for the shake of it. I just got round to finishing Stalker: Shadows of Chernobyl, and i must say, what a grand experience it has been! I loved it all the way through, and because i would only play a little bit every now and then (like.. monthly lol), the ending snuck up on me just when i was expecting moar moar moar!!! Theres no problem there thou, i now have Clear Sky and call of call of pripyat to work on when i find the time :D (HURRAR)
